The interview attire can speak volumes about your personality. Dress appropriately to make the best first impression. If you have multiple interviews, it is advisable to have two sets of professional attire.

Pre-interview Dinner

Pre-interview dinner is a semi-formal gathering where you get to meet the other applicants and the residents. This is an opportunity for you to get to know more about the program. You can wear the “business casual” attire for the pre-interview dinners. Men can wear a nice button-up shirt and dark slacks or khaki pants. Sneakers and jeans are to be avoided and wearing a tie is not necessary. Women can wear a nice blouse and slacks or appropriate length skirts. Make sure your clothes are not too provocative or short or display too much skin. Be conservative in dressing yet professional. Also, keep the weather in mind. Candidates with interviews in the east coast should be prepared for the snowy winters.
